Freight in the United States is currently not guided by a federal
policy. In many areas there are no requirements to share data, to
coordinate activities
or to streamline operations. Consequently there is inefficiency in
planning, infrastructure investment and operations.
Many in the freight industry and academia have called for the U.S. to
develop a Federal Freight Policy (FFP). Various interests have
expressed
positions on what the FFP should address and how it should
be crafted.
FFPTech is a forum for the exchange of ideas, resources and best
practices in freight technology, that may contribute towards a FFP. As
our name suggests, the focus is on technological
aspects of FFP, including engineering, information and management
technologies that improve infrastructure planning, operations,
logistical
efficiency, sustainability, safety and security.
You are invited to register with the community of
freight
stakeholders, to share your thoughts and to participate in the
discussion. Freight policy is global in scope; international
